The Best PC Games You'll Want to Play in 2022

PC gaming as an industry is booming. The audience for games on personal computers continues to grow, and new sub-segments have emerged within the broader PC space.

In particular, livestreaming has helped further the rise of PC gaming by making it even easier to watch other people play games.

There are plenty of great games available now on PCs, from indie titles like Cuphead and Subnautica to AAA blockbusters like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

With so many great options out there, we thought you might like a guide on what the best PC games will be in 2022.

We’ve picked out some of our favorite games coming out this year and coming soon that you should keep an eye on if you’re a fan of personal computer gaming.

Read on for more information about the best upcoming PC games in 2021 and 2022.

What to Expect From PC Games in 2022

First, it’s important to recognize that PC gaming is not just one thing. It’s a vast and ever-expanding community of players and developers who find new ways to play and create every year.

This year, we’ll see the release of a new console from Microsoft, the Xbox Scarlett, which may be able to give a slight boost to console gaming.

But otherwise, the future of PC gaming looks bright. Console gaming has been in a sort of bubble for a while now.

While the audience for personal computer gaming continues to grow, console gaming has become more and more insular.

Exclusive titles are a big reason for this, but so is a lack of innovation in terms of the actual hardware.

Console manufacturers have been releasing updated versions of their systems every five or six years or so for decades now.

And because of the relative simplicity of a console’s internal design, these upgrades are mostly superficial.

New graphics chips, a slightly faster processor clock speed, maybe a slightly redesigned controller.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Let’s start with what is sure to be one of the best PC games in 2022: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

The long-running first-person shooter series has been a staple of console gaming for almost two decades now.

With each year, the series brings in millions of players who are excited to jump in and test their skills against other players online.

Black Ops 4 has been generating a lot of buzz ahead of its release this year.

The game will feature battle royale-style gameplay in addition to more traditional multiplayer modes.

The game’s battle royale mode, called Black Out, will feature some traditional elements of the regular Call of Duty gameplay and some excellent additions from other games.

For example, Black Out will feature destructible environments, which is something other battle royale games haven’t done nearly as well as traditional shooters.

Black Ops 4 has been built from the ground up to be a great PC game. The visuals are stunning, and the gameplay is modern and varied.

Days Gone

Next up is Days Gone, an open-world game that has been in development for several years now.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic version of Oregon that is overrun by creatures called “freakers.”

You play as Deacon, who has to survive an increasingly hostile environment while also trying to find and rescue other human survivors along the way.

The game has been pushed back a couple of times, but it’s finally almost here. And unlike many other games that get delayed, this one has been improving with each extra year in development.

And it has one of the most interesting and unique game worlds we’ve seen in recent years. The visuals are stunning, and the game has a great balance of exploration and survival elements.

Mario Kart Tour

Nintendo has been mostly absent from the PC gaming scene for years now. But Mario Kart Tour, a new mobile game coming soon, might just be worth the time and effort to port to PC.

Mario Kart is a Nintendo franchise that has been around for decades now. The series is loved by players across all ages who can enjoy the fast-paced, easy-to-learn but difficult-to-master gameplay.

Mario Kart Tour lets you race against your friends and family online, which would make it a great fit for PC.

The visuals are also excellent and make great use of the latest iOS/Android technology. The game will feature a single-player campaign, which is a nice addition that most other entries in the series don’t have.

For the best experience, though, you’ll want to play with friends online. Mario Kart Tour is easy to learn but challenging to master, making it a great game for all skill levels.

Halo Infinite

Next up is Halo Infinite, Microsoft’s next entry in the long-running Halo franchise. Halo is an iconic video game series that has lived on consoles for almost two decades.

But it has also been ported to PC in the past, and we expect that to happen again with Halo Infinite. While Microsoft has kept details about the game fairly under wraps, they have confirmed that the game is due to be released on PC.

Beyond that, we know that the game is being developed using the newly-built Slenderman engine. You can expect a visually stunning game with excellent graphics and sound.

Beyond that, we don’t know much else about the game. But given that Halo is one of Microsoft’s biggest brands, and that the company has a long history of investing heavily in the PC gaming space, we expect Halo Infinite to be a major PC game.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Finally, we come to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the conclusion to Lara Croft’s current story arc.

As with the previous game in this series, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a visually stunning third-person action game that has been built for a wide variety of PC hardware configurations.

The game features a wide variety of weapons and puzzles, and it has some of the most satisfying combat we’ve seen in recent years.

Lara Croft is one of the most iconic gaming characters of all time, and we expect this game to be a fitting end to her current adventure.

Unfortunately, the game seems to be somewhat rare. It hasn’t been released on PC yet, and the release date is still a mystery. Once it comes out, though, it’s definitely worth a look.

PC gaming continues to be one of the most exciting and rapidly-growing gaming subcultures in the world.

With each year, more and more people discover the joys of playing games on their PCs. We expect that trend to continue in the years ahead.

A new generation of gamers will discover the value of playing on their PCs.

And publishers and developers will find new and exciting ways to keep the PC gaming community engaged.

If you’re looking to get into PC gaming, there has never been a better time to join the community.
